A Best Performing Bank for the Ninth Consecutive Year

Central Bancompany recognized as one of Forbes Best Performing Banks in America for ninth consecutive year.

For the ninth year in a row, the prestigious business publication, Forbes, has recognized Central Bancompany as one of America’s Best Banks in its annual review of the nation’s 100 largest financial institutions. Central Bancompany, a Missouri-based bank holding company, ranked 17th on the Forbes 2017 survey, compared to 30th on the 2016 survey.

“For the ninth year in a row, Forbes has chosen Central Bancompany and our family of thirteen community banks in four states, among the ‘Best Banks in America’. We are elated and gratified to have this honor bestowed upon us. The top 17 in ranking is a major accomplishment and recognition for our company. We want to thank our employees and management team, who made this possible. And most importantly, our loyal customers.” said Bryan Cook, Central Bancompany President and Chief Executive Officer.

To rank the nation’s banks, Forbes used data collected by S&P Global Market Intelligence. The Charlottesville, Va., company gauged each bank based on 10 metrics related to growth, profitability, capital adequacy, and asset equality. Metrics include return on average tangible equity, net charge-offs as a percent of total loans and efficiency ratio, net interest margin, nonperforming assets as a percent of assets; reserves as a percent of NPLs, two capital ratios (Tier 1 and risk-based), and revenue growth over the last 12 months.
