Paul joined Central Bank of the Midwest in May, 2003 and serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer. Paul leads the Credit and Commercial divisions with oversight of the bank’s credit culture and quality. In addition, he is responsible for development and execution of the Bank’s lending policies to ensure regulatory compliance and overall portfolio growth. During Paul’s tenure, Central Bank of the Midwest has seen growth in total assets to nearly $1.8 billion and total loans of over $1.2 billion through a series of acquisitions and organic growth. He serves on the board of Directors for Hillcrest Transitional Housing.
Paul began his 40+ year career in lending in 1977 with the Federal Land Bank in northwest Missouri. He subsequently held positions of increasing responsibility with American Bank of Marceline, through several mergers and acquisitions, serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer for Mercantile Bancorporation in Sedalia, MO and St. Joseph, MO until its merger with US Bank in 2001, where he was responsible for approving large credits across a four state region.
Paul holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of Missouri-Columbia and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University.
