Central Bank's Brad Roling walks a mile in restauranteur John Pham's shoes, learning the ropes of the very business he helps to support as one of Central Bank's business bankers. Now that Brad knows how to cook at least one dish, he no longer has an excuse to avoid the kitchen at home!
BRAD:
My name is Brad Roling, I'm a Commercial Loan Officer. I've been doing this for about four years, and with the holding company for a little over seven years. I'm sitting here today with John Pham from Bangkok Gardens, a long-time Central Bank customer.
JOHN:
I'm John Pham. So I've been officially with the bank for at least twenty years. The relationship I've had with the bank is intricate, but not so intricate, because they made it easy. The bank's there to support us in every which way. It's really dynamic.
BRAD:
I think I'm most nervous about cooking. I don't fancy myself a good cook, and trying to live up to the standards of your restaurant is going to be a little tough. Being in a Commercial Lender role, I get to work with customers such as John and other local small businesses. That's what I like about my job. Every day is a new challenge, every day is a new loan. If he has a problem, needs new equipment, something breaks down, payroll issues - he doesn't call a 1-800 number. I'm very accessible to John and to all my customers.
JOHN:
Here you go. Something a little bit more comfy for you. Wow! Looks good. You stick with banking.
BRAD:
And, you stick to cooking!
