Jim has devoted his career to advancing people and communities through his work with Bossler-Hix Personnel and civic leadership with the Overland Park City Council. With a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and an MBA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Jim built a successful Human Resources consulting firm and served as CEO from 1969 until his retirement in 2000. His commitment to developing people led him to serve as an adjunct professor at Johnson County Community College and Kansas City Community College, where he taught Business Administration and Human Relations in Organizations.

In addition to his role on the Overland Park City Council, Jim has held and continues to serve on numerous boards including Johnson County Community College Foundation, Summit Office Staffing, St. Luke’s South Hospital, Overland Park Chamber, Overland Park EDC, Overland Park Rotary and the Overland Park Convention and Visitors Bureau. He has served on the board of directors for Metcalf Bank and Central Bank of the Midwest since 1998. Jim lives in Overland Park with his wife, Christie.
