About Me
John Twitty brings more than 40 years of leadership in the energy and utilities industry to his role on the Advisory Board. Now fully retired, he remains active in the community and currently serves on the Legacy Committee for Community Partnership of the Ozarks.
Throughout his career, Mr. Twitty held several prominent leadership roles, including President and CEO of the Missouri Public Utility Alliance (MPUA), where he led statewide efforts to support and strengthen municipal utilities. He also served as Executive Director of the Transmission Access Policy Study Group (TAPS), advocating for fair access to the electric transmission system for transmission-dependent utilities nationwide.
Earlier in his career, he was General Manager and CEO of City Utilities of Springfield, Missouri, where he oversaw key infrastructure and modernization initiatives. He also held leadership roles with Rolla Municipal Utilities and worked in solar energy development at Gardner Capital.
Mr. Twitty held national leadership positions with the American Public Power Association, The Energy Authority, and the North American Electric Reliability Corporation’s Member Representatives Committee.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri and a professional degree from Missouri University of Science and Technology. His decades of public service continue to make him a respected voice in the community.
