About Me
Mark Walker serves as Chairman and CEO of TransLand, a Springfield, Missouri–based trucking company founded by his parents in 1982. In 2019, he and his wife Mary purchased the business, ensuring the continuation of the family legacy while guiding it through new phases of growth.
With more than three decades of leadership experience, Mark has a notable history in both corporate and nonprofit spheres. He held senior roles with SBC Communications (later AT&T) over 23 years, including a move to San Jose, California, where he later led United Way Silicon Valley as President & CEO, and then served as Managing Director of Global Community Affairs and Executive Director of the Applied Materials Foundation.
Since joining TransLand in 2013, he has overseen its operations across all 48 states, with a primary focus on Midwest markets, and expanded terminals in Strafford and O’Fallon, Missouri. Under his leadership, TransLand has been repeatedly recognized as a "Best Fleet to Drive For" (2022–2025) and he was named a 2025 “Men of the Year” by the Springfield Business Journal.
Mark is deeply engaged in community service and has served on the governing board of Care to Learn since 2020. He is also a longtime Rotarian, facilitates the Missouri Trucking Leadership Forum, a leadership training program of the Missouri Trucking Association. He also holds executive committee board positions with Drury University, National CASA, and Traffic Insurance Ltd.
His unique combination of operational expertise, organizational leadership, and community-focused service provides a strategic vision to the Central Bank of the Ozarks Advisory Board.
