Thomas B. Rankin

Thomas “Tom” B. Rankin is the Managing Director and Broker at Sperry Van Ness | Rankin Company, LLC (SVN Rankin), a commercial real estate firm he founded in 1990. With over 30 years of industry expertise, Tom is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), a designation that represents the highest professional standard in commercial real estate. His educational foundation includes a bachelor’s degree in finance, with a real estate minor, from Missouri State University, earned in 1988.

Tom built his company from the ground up, expanding from general brokerage to add Rankin Development in 2001, specializing in build-to-suit projects. In 2006, he aligned with national firm SVN, transforming his office into one of the top ten producers out of more than 160 SVN offices nationwide. His portfolio includes more than 600,000 square feet of industrial and retail developments such as North Creek Business Park, Springfield Plaza, and The Shoppes at James River.

A dedicated community leader, Tom has served on numerous boards, including Mercy Hospital Springfield, Burrell Behavioral Health, the Springfield Business Development Corporation, Convoy of Hope, and the Board of Public Utilities, where he also served as chairman. He has previously led the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks and the Southeast Rotary Club and currently sits on the Advisory Board of Central Bank of the Ozarks among other local civic organizations.
