Instead of using your real card number, Apple Pay digitally assigns a unique Device Account Number – which is encrypted and securely stored – so your card number is never stored, transferred, or viewed by merchants. In addition, your card numbers are never stored on Apple servers. You’ll also be prompted by biometric authentication when making a purchase or payment.
